Midfielder Nicky Adams has assured fans that the team will get over the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy disappointment against Newport, and get back to winning ways and begin another unbeaten run when the club are back in action.

Crawley were six unbeaten in the league, and were looking to extend that run in our recent JPT game but unfortunately we went down three two on the night, and manager Richie Barker has already more than made his thoughts clear about the performance we put in.

But Adams says the players are hurting from the defeat, and they’ll be doing their level best to get back to winning ways when we face Bradford this weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site the player said that everyone was disappointed and they more than knew that the performance they put in wasn’t acceptable but more importantly it wasn’t a performance a Crawley team should be putting in during games. However he points out that the team haven’t suddenly become bad overnight, and we will be doing all we can to get back to winning ways as the first time of asking.

‘We know what we’re about and what we’re capable of as a squad and we’ll be looking to put that right as soon as possible and get another run going.’

Crawley would’ve been in action last weekend had it not been for the game against Bristol City being cancelled following international call ups, but the lack of action has seen Crawley slip in the league, but we can more than make that back up with our game in hand now.

Adams admits that having a spare weekend is frustrating as the players would’ve preferred to get straight back onto the pitch, but it has given them the chance to have a bit of a rest, and refocus in training.

It could be well timed with two big games coming up against Bradford and then Port Vale, and the team are focused on securing a six point return from them to really boost us in the table again.

‘That’s the aim. We should have the likes of Billy, Kyle and Joe available and when we have a full squad we are a match for any side in this division.’
