Richie Barker has said he can’t wait to see the players challenge Ipswich in our second pre season friendly of the summer.

Mick McCarthy’s boys head to the Broadfield on Wednesday for a 7.45pm kick off.

Speaking to the Official Site Barker said of the forthcoming game.

‘Friday was a very useful exercise and we got a lot of benefit from 90 minutes but needless to say Ipswich will be a lot different. Mick is extremely experienced and the way he got Ipswich up the table after he took over was outstanding. No doubt both sides will mix and match things a bit but it’s nontheless a competitive game and one we are looking forward to.’

Barker also confirmed that he has been running the eye over for Brighton, Coventry and Celtic defender Adam Virgo, but he won’t be involved against Ipswich.
