Preston suffered a first defeat in five games when they lost at Crawley on Tuesday night.

It didn’t take Crawley, who had been pushing for promotion earlier in the season; long to break the deadlock with Mike Jones (6) scoring with a 25-yard effort.

Thorsten Stuckmann was given another run in the Preston goal and he had to save from Paul Hayes with Josh Simpson putting another effort over for the hosts before the break.

Crawley dominated throughout much of the game, however Preston almost grabbed a second half equaliser but Jack King saw his header hit the bar.

The 1-0 for Crawley ensures them a finish in the top half of the League One table, whereas Preston look certain to finish in the bottom half so it’s a season that The Lilywhites will be glad to see the back of.
