John Cofie has signed for Crawley with the former Man United youngster, who has also played for Sheffield United, Notts County and Barnsley agreeing a short-term deal.

Cofie is a name I remember, with him very highly rated, but for whatever reason – and I think he had some off the field issues – it didn’t work out for him at Old Trafford and he never made a first-team appearance getting his football during loan spells with Royal Antwerp, Sheffield United and Notts County.

After leaving Man United he went on to have spells with Barnsley and has also appeared for Molde in Norway but he’ll now be looking to get his career back on track at Broadfield.

The 22-year-old has been snapped up by Dean Saunders initially until the end of the season, he’ll be looking to impress enough into getting a longer-term deal and if he plays his part in keeping us in League 1 I can’t see why he couldn’t.

Cofie it’s over to you now!

One that isn’t going to be seen at the club, for the next month anyway, is Emmett O’Connor, as he’s gone out on a one-month loan move to get some first-team football that he’s been lacking since the turn of the year.

He earned his contract after a successful trial but the last of his seven appearances this season was made on Boxing Day.
