Manager John Gregory was left very frustrated at the final whistle yesterday and politely questioned whether or not the referee could tell the time.

Crawley took the lead twice in the game thanks to Tubbs and Simpson, but Rotherham clawed their way to a point with a late equaliser deep in injury time, and Gregory believes the match should’ve ended before they got themselves back on level terms.

Speaking to the press after the match, the gaffer said everybody was gutted to lose the win in that way, but overall he has again left the match with plenty of positives following our performance.

‘We are devastated. It feels like a defeat conceding that goal so late in the game. Nevertheless, there were a lot of good things, but they they scored five minutes and fifty seconds into added time, so the referee is 50 seconds over the five minutes allocated and I don’t know where he got that from.’

As for our second half showing, the boss said he feels that was the best showing we have put in since he arrived at the club, and he called the team ‘outstanding’ for their efforts, and he credits Simpson with scoring the goal of the weekend for us when we took a two one lead.

The only other disappointment for Gregory was that we didn’t play as well in the first half, as if we had performed like that for the entire 90 minutes we could well have got the third goal on the day and really put the match beyond them.
