Manager John Gregory has slammed the referee for failing to award what he thought was a blatant penalty in our favour during last night’s game against Swindon.

Crawley rescued a point thanks to a goal from Matt Tubbs ten minutes from time, but Gregory believes Crawley were denied the chance to get our own noses in front during the first half when Jamie Proctor was dragged down in the box.

Speaking to the press following the game the gaffer explained.

‘We’ve seen similar penalties on TV over the last weekend where the defender takes both his legs and they certainly did that with Jamie. It’s not given and there’s nothing you can do about it, even when they’re wrong they’re right, so you just have to get on with it.’

Gregory admits the players were down in the dressing room following the draw because dictating so much of the game as we did, they know they should’ve come out with the victory really, especially as you could easily argue their goal was against the run of play and was very unfortunate with the deflection.

Despite the Swindon match being only our fifth game of the year following the cancellations we have suffered, the draw does however mean we are now five unbeaten so it is something we can build on.

With so many games in hand and matches coming thick and fast we need to build on it as well to make them count as we should certainly be fresher in the main than most of our opponents.
