Crawley’s League 2 season continued with a defeat against Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium on Saturday.

A two-nil defeat at Leyton Orient, albeit with us well clear (you would think) of the bottom two, leaves Crawley down in 17th place.

Goals in either half from Armand Gnanduillet were enough for Leyton Orient to keep up their play-off push.

These were the other results.

Saturday 27th February 2016
Accrington 1-2 Barnet
Wimbledon 2-2 Oxford Utd
Dag & Red 0-1 Yeovil
Hartlepool 0-0 Northampton
Leyton Orient 2-0 Crawley
Morecambe 1-2 Carlisle
Newport 1-0 Mansfield
Plymouth 1-0 Notts County
Portsmouth 2-1 Cambridge
Stevenage 0-2 Exeter
Wycombe 1-0 Bristol Rovers
York 2-3 Luton

Plymouth (one-nil) were the only of the top three to actually win, so they’ve strengthened the automatic hopes that little more, which are still looking pretty good anyway.

The winning run Northampton (nil-nil) had been on finally ended with the Cobblers drawing at relegation threatened Hartlepool to see Argyle close the gap by two-points but this should still be more than enough for the job to be seen through.

Oxford (two-two) were also held with play-off chasing Wimbledon keeping their chances on after this game at Kingsmeadow with those looking to close in on the third placed U’s aided….

If they won of course!

Yet there weren’t too many looking to do just that able to manage it with the play-off picture becoming all the more congested if anything given the mixed nature of the results of those in and around those positions.

The battle to stay in the Football League saw Yeovil (one-nil) collecting a big three-points with a win at rivals Dagenham whereas York (three-two) suffered defeat when Luton went away from Bootham Crescent with the points.
