Crawley’s League 2 season continued with a two-one defeat against Mansfield at the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday.

Having announced the news the club are ‘close to agreeing a takeover with an overseas-based business consortium’ this couldn’t be celebrated with the points by Crawley with Mansfield winning it through a Chris Beardsley goal in the second half. The injury-time sending off of Matt Green for the Stags didn’t make any difference to the outcome.

These were the other results.

Saturday 30th January 2016
Accrington 1-0 Bristol Rovers
Wimbledon 2-3 Yeovil
Crawley 0-1 Mansfield
Hartlepool 0-2 Exeter
Leyton Orient 1-3 Cambridge
Luton 0-2 Notts County
Morecambe 1-2 Newport
Plymouth 0-1 Wycombe
York 2-1 Stevenage

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Yeovil (three-two), Wycombe (one-nil) and York (two-one).

The chances of Yeovil staying in the Football League were given another boost with them edging out Wimbledon by the odd goal in five with a three-two win secured by the Glovers at Kingsmeadow secured.

Without the leaders Northampton in action Plymouth missed the chance to take advantage with Argyle beaten one-nil by Wycombe, who boosted their promotion chances, with a win at Home Park.

Another of the relegation threatened sides are York with them bringing Stevenage right back into the mix too (which Hartlepool are now very much in after another defeat) with a two-one win at Bootham Crescent.
