Crawley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Rhys Murphy in Crawley’s two one victory over Bristol Rovers at the weekend at Broadfield Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Murphy was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Like his aforementioned namesake Jacob, it was a 10-minute spell to remember for Murphy as Crawley edged out Bristol Rovers 2-1 in Sky Bet League 2. On loan from Oldham, Murphy found the net in the ninth minute with a typical poacher’s finish, and his second goal just 56 seconds later was a bit more easy on the eye…’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Murphy for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

David Button (Brentford), Greg Leigh (Bradford), Adam Thompson (Southend), Kevin Long (Barnsley), Shane Ferguson (Millwall), Ryan Harley (Exeter), Jermaine Anderson (Peterborough), Fernando Forestieri (Sheffield Wednesday), Jacob Murphy (Coventry), Jay Simpson (Leyton Orient), Rhys Murphy (Crawley).

Manager – Stephen Pressley (Fleetwood).
