It had been reported former Aston Villa and Southampton youngster Issac Nehemie would be among those to feature, in a trialist capacity against Brighton on Wednesday.

Although, from the looks of it, the teenager didn’t get involved in the end?

The Crawley News had said the winger would be among those that Mark Yates would be ‘running the rule’ over, as they say, but his name didn’t appear to be on the teamsheet in the end, or did I miss something?

Formerly with the famed Southampton academy, which has produced plenty of talent in recent years, the left winger moved onto Villa Park last year as an 18-year-old.

I’m not sure if he remains under contract with Villa, and would be sent out on loan for first-team experience, but either way he didn’t appear to be involved in the three-nil defeat on Wednesday.

Another, expected to be on show, was Ardingly College student Alex Summerfield but again I can’t see any mention of this but former QPR ‘keeper Aaron Lennox, as the bid to boost that department this summer goes on, did with him coming on as a second half trialist and he kept himself a cleansheet at least for the time he was on!
