Manager Mark Yates has today secured the loan transfer of Crystal Palace youngster Christian Scales.

The 18 year old moved to Selhurst Park last October after leaving Norwich City and he has joined us on a youth loan until January 2.

Last season he made 14 appearances for their Under 18 side with five games for the Under 21 set up, and made his non competitive first team debut this summer when they travelled to South Africa for the Cape Town Cup.

Speaking to the Official Site after securing his temporary capture, Yates explained that he felt he would settle in nicely at the club and prove his worth.

‘We`re delighted to have Christian with us because he`s a player I have been tracking for some time now. He`s a young lad who has impressed in Academy and youth football for Palace and they now feel its time for him to get a taste of League football. He`s good on the ball but he`s first and foremost a very steady and solid defender, naturally left-footed and someone who I think will relish the step up. He`s with us until January and he gives us another option in the squad.’

The young left back has been handed the No 3 shirt for his stay with us and he comes in in time to potentially make his debut this weekend when we made the League Two trip to Cambridge United.
