Crawley Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Josh Payne in the three nil victory over Leyton Orient at the weekend at the Broadfield Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Payne was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Payne created two goals inside half an hour as Crawley eased to a 3-0 triumph against rock-bottom Leyton Orient. His set-pieces were headed in by James Collins and Joe McNerney as the Reds went on to end their six-game winless run.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Payne for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Dean Lyness (Blackpool), Richard Duffy (Notts County), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), Mark Beevers (Bolton Wanderers), Matt Dolan (Yeovil Town), Callum Camps (Rochdale), Josh Payne (Crawley Town), George Cooper (Crewe Alexandra), Ivan Toney (Scunthorpe United), John Akinde (Barnet), Chris Porter).

Manager – Luke Williams (Swindon Town).
