Rotherham United defender Richard Wood has now extended his loan spell at Crawley Town until the end of the season.

The centre halves loan spell initially expired on Saturday following the win against Leyton Orient, but following discussions between two clubs agreement has been reached to keep him with us for the remaining games of the season.

Having joined us initially towards the end of February, he has gone on to feature in seven games, scoring twice, and has played his part in helping us to four victories.

Manager Dean Saunders said of the extension.

‘We’re delighted to have Woody with us until the end of the season. He’s made a big difference since he came here with his ability and experience. I would also like to thank Steve Evans for agreeing to extending the loan period. Steve had been great in helping his old club out over this and it is much appreciated.’

Rotherham do now have a 24 hour recall clause in place should it be needed.
