Crawley Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jimmy Smith in the three two victory over Colchester United in midweek at the Colchester Community Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Smith was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘It was the perfect evening for Smith, who took home the matchball after grabbing his first ever career hat-trick in Crawley’s 3-2 win at Colchester United. The Reds skipper scored with his head, right foot and left foot to claim the EFL Star of the Night honour.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Smith for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the points.

Full Team:

Luke Daniels (Scunthorpe United), Enda Stevens (Portsmouth), Peter Clarke (Oldham Athletic), Vincent Sasso (Sheffield Wednesday), Jake Buxton (Wigan Athletic), Jason Demetriou (Southend United), Kadeem Harris (Cardiff City), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Gavin Massey (Leyton Orient), Tom Bradshaw (Barnsley), Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley).

Manager – David Artell (Crewe Alexandra).
