Crawley have moved a little closer to the signing of another trialists after his former club admitted defeat in their attempts to retain his services.

Anthony Stewart has been on trial with us this summer, he was a ‘standout performer’ in the two-one win over Three Bridges on Monday with the defender scoring the opening goal.

Wycombe Wanderers aren’t saying too much but what they have said points to the 21-year-old not returning to the league 2 side meaning that a permanent arrival could soon be secured?

Due to Stewart being under the age of 24 Crawley would have to plat compensation for the defender though so wouldn’t get the technically free agent on a free….
