Earlier today Crawley Town ran an update on the proposed takeover by a Turkish investor.

Following on from the previous announcements by Chief Executive Officer Michael Dunford, a statement on the Official Site earlier today confirmed that the club’s solicitor had now received a deposit for the proposed sale with the unannounced, at this stage, Turkish investor.

It was expected – as of the statement earlier today – that an exchange of contracts would be due within the next 24 hours and it would mean that the takeover was on track to be finalised by early next week once the Football League had hopefully offered their approval to the deal and all the legal arrangements had been organised.

The statement released promised no further comment at this stage.

Edit – It’s now being reported tonight that the contracts have been exchanged with businessman Ziya Eren who is the President of Turkish side Kayseri Erciyesspor.
