Crawley’s 2014/15 league 1 season gets underway with an away game at Oakwell on Saturday.

Barnsley, relegated from the championship last season, will prove tough opposition for Crawley as John Gregory looks for a positive start to the season having set expectations high.

Summer arrivals James Bailey (groin) and Ross Turnbull (back) are doubtful for Barnsley but Adam Davies, Reece Brown, Joe Dudgeon, Conor Hourihane, Luke Berry, Keith Treacy and Sam Winnall are all in line to feature.

17 new faces have joined us this summer and Gregory will have virtually all of them available to select from with the matchday squad likely to feature the vast majority of them.

Matt Harrold (knee) is the only one that isn’t available with Gavin Tomlin (knock) set to be fit.

Gregory has certainly set expectation levels high, a top eight finish is his aim and if that is to happen a win would be a good way to start, but will it happen?

I’m not so sure, but if the players ‘bed in’ instantly you never know….
