Manager Mark Yates has confirmed that he will be taking a close look at several trialists in tonight’s visit to Ryman League side Burgess Hill in our first pre season friendly of the summer.

The game kicks off at their Green Elephants Stadium at 7.30pm tonight and tickets have been priced at Adults £6, Senior Citizens £4 and U18s Free.

With news earlier in the week that Gavin Tomlin and Lanre Oyebanjo would now both be out until around October having undergone surgery for minor injury problems in the last few days, Yates told the Official Site that he would be taking a fully fit squad to the game, but it would be used as an opportunity to look at some trialists in a game situation.

Tomlin underwent surgery for an abductor muscle tear and hernia, and Oyebanjo had an operation to repair his cartilage.

‘Apart from Lanre Oyebanjo and Gavin Tomlin, who are both injured and recovering from surgery, we have a fully fit squad and we`re also looking at another eight players who will get their opportunity at Burgess Hill and we look forward to seeing what they have to offer in a match situation.’

The trialists who will be in action later tonight have been listed as.

Chris Sessegnon – former Dover, Ebbsfleet and Sutton United wide player.

David Fitzpatrick – 20-year-old winger who played two games for AFC Wimbledon last season.

George Barker – Ex-Brighton striker who was released by Swindon at the end of last season after making 13 appearances for the Robins. Also had a loan spell with Tranmere Rovers.

Roarie Deacon – Former Stevenage utility player who started his career with Arsenal and has also played for England under-19s.

Ben O`Hanlon – Left-back who has come through the Academy at Wolves.

Francis Boateng – 23-year-old Ghanaian winger.

Alex Brister – Former Fulham defender who has also played in Finland.

Callum Preston – Wales’ under-19 goalkeeper who has come through Birmingham City`s Academy and played on loan for AFC Telford last season.

There is also a ninth trialist hoping for a run out tonight according to The Argus.

Former Southend and Southampton striker Lee Barnard.

They quote Yates as saying.

‘Lee has a proven track record and has done very well over the last few weeks. We want to take a look at him in a game but we are not going to make a decision based solely on 45 minutes.’
