Crawley’s depleted defensive ranks, with us losing more players leading up to this game, were breached twice, once in very unfortunate circumstances, as relegation rivals Scunthorpe edged us out two-one on Saturday.

The defeat at Glanford Park means that we drop to 21st in the League 1 table, three-points behind Scunthorpe, but remain just outside of the bottom four owing to the fact that Crewe have a worse goal-difference than us.

Dickson (19) own goal sent Scunthorpe into the break one-up, but this was very unlucky. An attempted Clarke cross shot caught his leg and nestled in the back of the net.

Not too much fortunate about the second though when the lead was doubled by Madden (62) shortly past the hour mark to leave us facing an uphill task.

You can’t give McLeod (77) chances like the one that he had, when he finished well to give us hope late on but it wasn’t anything more than a consolation goal in the end as we dropped closer to the relegation zone, but more importantly at the moment remain our of it and have safety still in our own hands!
